About Loon

Beginning as a fun hobby, Loon Kombucha was first brewed in April 2016 at a family cottage near Perth, Ontario. The founder, Gabe Johnston, wanted to create a delicious, smooth-tasting kombucha that was both refreshing, pure, and locally made. As his passion and the public's interest grew, Gabe started selling Loon Kombucha at local farmers markets in Perth, Kingston, Brockville, Gananoque and Ottawa. 
By June, so many grocery stores and cafes were selling Loon Kombucha that he had to move into a not-for-profit kitchen in Smiths Falls just to keep up with production. Within a year, he outgrew this kitchen, and made the move to Balderson, Ontario. This is when Loon Kombucha started using Balderson's high quality, alkaline, and fully mineralized water taking our kombucha to the next step.
 
With the team growing and sales surging, Loon Kombucha broadened its reach and started distributing to Toronto, opened up refill stations across the city, then expanded out as far as Collingwood and Parry Sound.

During the COVID-19 crisis, Loon Kombucha has increased its online presence in order to facilitate curbside deliveries. You can now order Loon delivery in Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto. You can also pre-order and pick up at the Brewery.
