Refill Stations and Farmers Markets
Why Refill?
We all need to do more to waste less. Loon Kombucha offers a sustainable refill system to help reduce waste and protect the environment. It will also increase customer savings. With each refill you purchase, it is one less bottle we have to purchase. It's one less bottle going, potentially, into the landfill. Recycling doesn't always work as cleanly as we'd like and you can make a difference with your consumer habits.
Zero waste living is growing in popularity because people are realizing that the choices we make have a real impact on the world. Unfortunately, the zero waste movement has taken a significant hit due to the pandemic. All the to-go containers resulted in excess waste and we reused less as consumers. It's time to get this back on track!
The importance of cleaning
Thoroughly clean and sanitize your bottle before you refill. Bacterial contaminants can make you ill, which is bad enough, but during these turbulent times, you don't want to confuse food poisoning with a contagious viral infection. Stress and go hand in hand with sickness now, so clean well. It's more important than ever to do a good job cleaning so follow good cleaning procedures: rinse, clean, sanitize.
We take our food safety very seriously at Loon Kombucha and have a HACCP-certified facility. Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product. You can place great trust in the food safety of Loon Kombucha.
Where to Refill?
When you pick up a Loon Kombucha bottle, you can fill it up at one of our refill stations – or at a farmers’ market!
Now that the world is reopening after the pandemic, we are finally returning to farmers markets and events where you can refill from us directly. For the 2022 season, we are attending the following farmers markets until October.
