Shipping policy

Loon Kombucha offers FREE shipping to all monthly subscribers. You simply need to commit to a monthly purchase for at least six months. After that, you can cancel any time. You can also pause once in a six month period.

Free shipping is also available for one-time orders provided the delivery address is in Ontario or Quebec and the order total is over $75.00. 

A few fun facts:

Loon Kombucha needs to be refrigerated in order to slow fermentation and maintain its delicious flavour over long periods of time. Plus it tastes better cold! You need to refrigerated it upon arrival.

Loon has a best before date of about six months from its packaging date. When it is taken out of the fridge and returns to room temperature, for instance if you take it camping, or when a case is shipped to you through the mail, that best before date is shortened.

For example, if the product traveled to Vancouver from our location in Balderson over the course of 7 days, that best before date will be shorter than it used to be. How much shorter depends on the temperature outside. Some cans may still have the full six months. Loon Kombucha is a living product and every can is different. Trust your taste buds; if you like the taste after a few smalls sips, drink away.

Remember that the best before date is not an expiry date [see our FAQ page for more information]. A best before date simply means that we estimate that the product will TASTE its best up until that date. On the day of the best before date, in our experience, it will probably become a bit too tart and acidic - but it might be fine. 

For the most part, kombucha does not become dangerous like milk left out of the fridge for a short period of time. Some people who know they need to avoid highly acidic foods may not want to drink a very acidic kombucha, but they will know with a small sip whether it is right for them. Kombucha left out for weeks at a time can develop alcohol in rare circumstances - so don't do that - it will taste funky and gross.
